PSC Disowns Fake Police Recruitment Medical Examination Shortlist

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has dismissed a purported shortlist of candidates for medical examination in the ongoing police recruitment exercise, describing the document circulating on social media as fake and unauthorized.

In a statement issued on Monday by the Commission’s Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, Ikechukwu Ani, the PSC clarified that it has not released any shortlist for the next phase of the recruitment process.

According to the Commission, the evaluation of the recently conducted written examination is still ongoing and has not yet been concluded.

“The attention of the Police Service Commission has been drawn to a fake list currently circulating on social media, purporting to be a shortlist of candidates scheduled for medical examination,” the statement said.

The PSC explained that candidates who successfully pass the examination stage will be formally notified once the evaluation process is completed.

It noted that invitations for medical screening will be communicated through official channels, including email, SMS, the recruitment portal, and other authorized means of communication.

The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent and merit-based recruitment process, emphasizing that the quality of personnel recruited into the Nigeria Police Force remains a top priority.

Applicants and members of the public were advised to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to fraudsters who may seek to exploit the recruitment exercise through fake information and deceptive messages.

The PSC stressed that all official updates regarding the recruitment exercise will only be released through its verified communication platforms.

It also reminded applicants that the ongoing police recruitment process is completely free at every stage and urged candidates to disregard unofficial information while awaiting formal communication from the Commission.
