The Deputy Governor of Abia State, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, FNSE, has congratulated renowned economist and elder statesman Dr. Kalu Idika Kalu on his 87th birthday, describing him as an accomplished Nigerian whose contributions to public service have supported the country's development.

In his birthday message, Emetu commended Kalu's record of service, particularly his work in economic policy, public finance, national planning and governance. He noted that these contributions have established the celebrant as one of Nigeria's respected technocrats and public servants.
