Police Arrest Man for Allegedly Beating 65-Year-Old Father to Death in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 38-year-old man for allegedly beating his 65-year-old father to death during a violent altercation in Oda Community, Akure South Local Government Area.
The suspect, identified as Kingsley Nsikak, was reportedly involved in a heated argument with his father, Peter Adone, at their residence before the situation escalated into a physical confrontation.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abayomi Jimoh, the victim sustained serious injuries during the assault and was later confirmed dead despite efforts by medical personnel to save his life.
Jimoh said the incident occurred on May 28, 2026, adding that it had caused shock and concern among residents of the community.
He explained that the police received a formal complaint from Daniel Moses, a son of the deceased and brother to the suspect, which prompted immediate investigation.
Following the report, detectives were deployed to the scene, and the suspect was subsequently arrested and taken into custody for questioning.
The police spokesperson confirmed that the remains of the deceased have been deposited in the morgue.
He added that investigations are ongoing and that the suspect will be charged to court upon completion of the process.
Authorities say the tragic incident is being treated as a case of homicide, with efforts underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding the fatal dispute.
