Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has praised Arsenal’s performance in the UEFA Champions League final, despite his side emerging champions after a tense penalty shootout.

The Ligue 1 champions retained their title after defeating Arsenal on penalties, following a 1-1 draw in regulation time.

Arsenal took an early lead through Kai Havertz before Ousmane Dembele converted a penalty to bring PSG level.

In the shootout, Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Magalhaes missed their spot-kicks, handing PSG the victory and allowing the French side to successfully defend their Champions League crown.

Speaking after the match, Enrique described the victory as the highlight of the season, celebrating PSG’s back-to-back triumphs in Europe’s elite competition.

“This is the best moment of the season. We are still champions, two in a row, it’s amazing,” he said.

He added that PSG deserved the success, crediting both the team’s supporters and their consistency throughout the campaign.

“We deserved that. Our supporters, during the whole season, we deserve to be in the final,” Enrique said.

The PSG coach also acknowledged the difficulty of the final and praised Arsenal’s performance.

“It was very tough and difficult. Congratulations to Arsenal, it was very tough. They played great,” he added.
