Paris Saint-Germain have advanced to the final of this season’s UEFA Champions League after overcoming Bayern Munich in a closely contested semi-final.

The French champions played out a 1-1 draw with Bayern at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night, doing just enough to progress and book their place in the final.

Contrary to expectations of another high-scoring encounter following last week’s 5-4 thriller, the match proved to be a more cautious and tightly fought contest.

PSG made a bright start, taking the lead within the first five minutes. Ousmane Dembele found the back of the net after connecting with a low cross from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, beating goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

Bayern pushed for a response and eventually found an equaliser late in the game through Harry Kane. However, the goal came too late to change the outcome, as PSG held on to secure their progression.

With the result, PSG—who are also the defending champions—will now face Arsenal in the final scheduled for May 30 in Budapest.

Arsenal secured their spot after defeating Atletico Madrid 2-1 on aggregate, marking their first Champions League final appearance in two decades.
