Albanian heavyweight boxer Kristian Prenga has issued a confident warning to former world champion Anthony Joshua ahead of their scheduled bout in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on July 25.
Speaking at a pre-fight press conference, Prenga made bold claims about his punching power and insisted he is ready to cause an upset despite entering the fight as the underdog.
“I train hard, I am ready. I promise you, if I catch you, you’ve never felt anything like my punch. I promise it,” he said, adding that he has no respect for opponents once inside the ring.
The 35-year-old heavyweight, who boasts a strong knockout record, has stopped most of his recent opponents early in fights, further building his reputation as a dangerous puncher.
Prenga also predicted a shock result, insisting he believes the boxing world is about to witness something unexpected.
“I think I’m going to shock the world,” he added.
His manager, Keith Sullivan, echoed his confidence, claiming the fight booking reflects a misjudgment of Joshua’s current level and describing Prenga as fully prepared for the challenge.
Prenga further said being underrated motivates him and added that he believes the outcome of the fight is ultimately determined by faith.
“Being underestimated is actually a positive thing for me… You’ve got to go with God’s plans, and then you will become a winner,” he said.
He also revealed his surprise when the opportunity to face Joshua came through, saying he initially struggled to believe the news before accepting it as a major career breakthrough.
Meanwhile, Anthony Joshua has maintained that he is in strong physical and mental condition ahead of his return to action.
The former heavyweight champion said he is rebuilding himself after a difficult period and is focused on becoming stronger both mentally and physically.
“I’m building myself up to be stronger than I’ve ever been,” Joshua said, adding that true satisfaction only comes after victory in the ring.
Joshua also dismissed distractions surrounding future high-profile fights, stressing that his immediate focus remains on securing a win.
The bout is expected to serve as a key test for both fighters as they continue their respective career trajectories on the global stage.
