Emetu Family Celebrates Birth of Triplets with Special Thanksgiving Service

Joy and gratitude filled St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Onyirimba Road, Amaekpu Ohafia, on Sunday, May 31, 2026, as Barr. Chima Emetu and Barr. Mrs. Chima Lekwachi Emetu presented their newborn triplets to God during a special thanksgiving and dedication service.

The Holy Mass, officiated by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Clifford Ogbonna, attracted family members, friends, members of the Knights and Ladies of St. Mulumba, political stakeholders, Labour Party supporters, and other well-wishers.

Speaking during the service, the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, described the birth of the triplets as a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness and the fulfilment of divine promises.

He congratulated the parents for their steadfast faith and encouraged worshippers to continue trusting in God’s timing and intervention.

According to him, while the birth of one child is a blessing, God chose to multiply that joy threefold for the family.

In his homily, Rev. Fr. Ogbonna reflected on Psalm 127:3, describing children as a heritage and reward from the Lord. He noted that God’s blessings often surpass human expectations and described the triplets as evidence that miracles still happen.

The priest prayed for the children’s protection, wisdom, and healthy growth, while also offering prayers for the mother’s continued recovery.

As part of the thanksgiving celebration, the Emetu family announced the permanent restoration of electricity to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Ohafia, as a gesture of gratitude to God for a successful pregnancy and safe delivery.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the parish, Rev. Fr. Ogbonna thanked the family and prayed for God’s continued blessings upon them. He described the gesture as a reflection of their commitment to supporting the work of God and the growth of the Church.

The service featured joyful worship, praise sessions, and dancing as members of the congregation joined the family in celebrating the arrival of the triplets.

The event attracted dignitaries from across Abia State and concluded with prayers for the children’s future, alongside renewed calls for faith, gratitude, and trust in God’s providence.
