The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has called for stronger involvement of women in political leadership and decision-making processes across the country.
He made the call on Tuesday while receiving the APC National Women Leader, Dr. Mary Alile Idele, at the party’s national headquarters.
Yilwatda stressed that women should not be sidelined in governance, adding that they possess the same intellectual ability and leadership capacity as men when given equal opportunity.
“Being a woman does not make you less than a man. You have equal brain, equal capacity, equal ability,” he said.
The APC chairman urged more women to actively participate in politics, noting that inclusion and empowerment are essential for strengthening democracy and promoting balanced representation.
He encouraged women to step forward and take up leadership roles within the political space, emphasizing the need for greater engagement at all levels of governance.
Yilwatda also reaffirmed his support for increased female participation in the party, assuring that the APC leadership is committed to giving women a stronger voice in political affairs.
“We must empower you… and I will be behind you,” he added.
