The Abia State Government has concluded its week-long third anniversary celebration, marking three years of Governor Alex Otti’s administration and highlighting achievements recorded during the period.

Speaking at the grand finale held on May 29, 2026, at the Umuahia Township Stadium, Governor Alex Otti said his administration had made significant progress across key sectors of the state economy.

He expressed satisfaction with the steady growth witnessed over the past three years and noted that the government had remained focused on delivering meaningful development to the people.

Highlighting achievements in infrastructure, Otti disclosed that his administration had rehabilitated and reconstructed 414 roads covering more than 800 kilometres across the state. He added that another 82 roads spanning over 200 kilometres would soon be completed and commissioned.

In the healthcare sector, the governor said the renovation and upgrading of primary healthcare centres across the state were ongoing. He noted that Abia had received recognition for improvements in healthcare delivery and management.

On education, Otti revealed that more than 700 teachers had been recruited for primary and secondary schools across the state. He added that many schools were undergoing renovation, while fencing and security measures had been introduced to safeguard educational facilities.

The governor assured residents that his administration would not relent in its efforts to transform Abia, promising to intensify development initiatives aimed at making the state more modern and prosperous.

Several individuals and organisations delivered goodwill messages, congratulating the governor and the people of Abia on the administration’s achievements.

The event concluded with a colourful parade by the Nigeria Police Force, which added excitement and spectacle to the celebration.
