TikTok says it removed more than four million videos and interrupted over 86,000 LIVE sessions in Nigeria during the fourth quarter of 2025 as part of efforts to improve safety and platform integrity.
The social media company disclosed this in its Q4 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report released on Tuesday.
According to the report, the platform removed about 4.02 million videos in Nigeria within the period under review for violating its Community Guidelines.
It stated that 99.9 per cent of the flagged content was detected and removed proactively before users reported it, while 98.4 per cent of the videos were taken down within 24 hours of being posted.
The company said these figures reflect its increased use of automated detection systems and faster response mechanisms aimed at reducing harmful content online.
On a global scale, TikTok removed over 175.3 million videos during the quarter, representing about 0.5 per cent of all content uploaded on the platform.
Out of this number, more than 152.5 million videos were removed using automated systems, while about 8.4 million were later reinstated after additional review processes.
The platform also reported strong enforcement actions on TikTok LIVE, noting that more than 86,000 LIVE sessions in Nigeria were interrupted for breaching community guidelines.
Worldwide, TikTok said it issued warnings, demonetised content, and took enforcement action against over 17.7 million LIVE sessions and 9.2 million creators found to have violated its monetisation policies.
The company explained that warnings are intended to educate creators and help them correct content that may go against platform rules.
TikTok also highlighted ongoing efforts to address harmful artificial intelligence-generated content.
It said creators are required to label realistic AI-generated images, audio, and videos, while automated systems and Content Credentials technology are used to identify such content.
The platform noted that these measures have contributed to the labelling of more than 1.3 billion AI-generated videos globally.
TikTok reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a safe online environment through a combination of advanced moderation tools and teams of trust and safety professionals.
It also said it continues to work with government agencies, including the Office of the National Security Adviser, and civil society organisations to promote safer digital spaces and curb harmful online behaviour.
