"Put Ohafia First": Deputy Governor Emetu Tasks Youth Leaders on Unity, Selfless Service

In a powerful call for generational transformation, the Deputy Governor of Abia State, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, FNSE, has issued a clear directive to the youth leadership of Ohafia: prioritize the community's collective well-being above personal ambition.

Emetu delivered this charge on Saturday during a high-level gathering at his residence in Amaekpu, Ohafia. The meeting, which served as a congratulatory reception for the newly elected leadership of the Ohafia Improvement Union (OIU) Youth Wing, also functioned as a strategic summit aimed at bridging gaps between various youth factions within the clan.

The atmosphere was charged with purpose as Emetu addressed the executive members of the OIU Youth Wing and youth leaders representing the diverse communities across Ohafia Clan. He emphasized that leadership is not a platform for personal advantage but a profound responsibility requiring a spirit of service and sacrifice.

"I urge you to protect the integrity, dignity, and interests of our people, regardless of community lines," Emetu stated. He called for maturity and fairness in discharging their duties, stressing that a fractured leadership cannot deliver the peace, security, and development that Ohafia desperately needs.

In his view, the strength of Ohafia lies in its unity. He asserted that only through robust collaboration among the youth leaders can the area combat insecurity and unlock its full developmental potential.

In a unified response, the National President of the OIU Youth Wing, Chief Ukariwe Godwin, and the Home Branch President, Hon. Ume Kalu, expressed profound gratitude to the Deputy Governor for his fatherly role and unwavering affection for Ohafia sons and daughters.

The youth leaders did not mince words in their commitment. They vowed to "work hand in hand" to strengthen unity, promote peace, and build a safer, more prosperous Ohafia for all. The gathering concluded with a resounding affirmation that the collective aspirations of the Ohafia people must remain the driving force behind every community development initiative.
