The Ogun State Police Command has recovered the Lexus RX300 that was reported missing from the residence of retired Ogun State Television broadcaster, Kitan Oyesiku, following her death and that of her security guard in Iyana Agodo Village, Owode-Egba area of the state.

The recovery was disclosed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, who said the Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, visited the scene of the incident on Monday to assess the progress of the ongoing investigation.

According to the police, the visit was aimed at reviewing the circumstances surrounding the killings and evaluating the efforts being made by investigators handling the case.

“Further to the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of retired broadcaster, Ms. Kitan Oyesiku, and her security guard, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, today visited the scene of the incident for an on-the-spot assessment and to personally evaluate the progress of ongoing investigative efforts,” the statement read.

During the visit, Ojajuni inspected the premises and received updates from detectives working on the case. He also reaffirmed the command’s commitment to uncovering the truth behind the incident and ensuring that those responsible are brought to justice.

“CP Ojajuni reiterated the Command’s resolve to leave no stone unturned in unraveling the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensuring that those responsible are identified, apprehended, and brought to justice,” Babaseyi stated.

The police spokesperson also confirmed that the vehicle earlier reported missing from the residence had been recovered by operatives during the night.

“It is worthy of note that the vehicle earlier reported missing from the residence, a Lexus RX300, has been recovered by police operatives during the night hours,” Babaseyi said.

The command said the recovered vehicle had been secured as part of the ongoing investigation, while assuring residents that efforts were continuing to identify and arrest the perpetrators.

“The Commissioner of Police commiserated with the family of the deceased and assured residents of Ogun State that intensive investigation is ongoing, with all available resources being deployed to track down the perpetrators,” the statement added.

The incident occurred at Oyesiku’s residence in Iyana Agodo Village, Owode-Egba area of Ogun State, where the retired broadcaster and her security guard were found dead under circumstances that remain unclear.

Earlier reports stated that a resident alerted authorities after noticing suspicious activities around the property, prompting police operatives to visit the scene.

Preliminary investigations revealed signs of forced entry into the residence.

The police said a search of the premises led to the discovery of the security guard’s body at his duty post, while the broadcaster’s body was later found inside the apartment.
