New Abia Sustainability Project Endorses Otti, Emetu for Second Term in 2027

The New Abia Sustainability Project (NAS-P) has declared its support for the re-election of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, and his deputy, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, FNSE, ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The group said its endorsement followed a comprehensive assessment of the administration's performance, which it believes has brought significant transformation to the state since assuming office.

Announcing the endorsement, the spokesperson of NAS-P, Hon. Nzemen Emeka Onunkwo, said the organisation was satisfied that the Otti-led administration had laid a strong foundation for sustainable development through prudent management of public resources, infrastructure renewal, improved governance and policies aimed at improving the lives of residents.

He stated that the administration has restored public confidence in government by promoting accountability, transparency and purposeful leadership, resulting in notable progress across key sectors of the state's economy and public service.

Onunkwo also commended the contribution of Deputy Governor Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, describing him as a dependable partner whose experience, dedication and commitment have strengthened the administration's stability and effectiveness.

“The New Abia Sustainability Project has carefully evaluated the performance of the present administration and reached the conclusion that Governor Dr. Alex Chioma Otti has demonstrated transformational leadership worthy of continuity,” Onunkwo said.

“We equally recognize the invaluable role played by the Deputy Governor, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, FNSE, whose loyalty, professionalism, and commitment have significantly complemented the Governor's vision for a greater Abia. Their partnership has produced visible and measurable results that deserve the support of the people beyond 2027.”

The group maintained that retaining the current administration would help consolidate the progress already made and ensure the successful completion of ongoing development projects across the state.

Onunkwo therefore appealed to residents, political stakeholders, community leaders, youths, women and supporters of good governance to support the Otti/Emetu ticket in the 2027 governorship election, noting that continuity would accelerate the state's development.

He further reaffirmed the commitment of the New Abia Sustainability Project to mobilising grassroots support across all 17 local government areas of Abia State, expressing confidence that the electorate would once again entrust Governor Otti and Deputy Governor Emetu with another mandate.

According to the group, its endorsement is based entirely on its assessment of the administration's performance, vision and commitment to building a prosperous, inclusive and sustainable Abia State.
