Allegations of vote-buying have emerged in Gwagwalada Area Council amid the ongoing FCT Area Council elections.
In a video published by News Central TV, a man at Kutunku I Primary School polling unit claimed he was offered money in exchange for his vote.
The man alleged that supporters of a candidate identified as Usman were promised N5,000 per vote, while the People's Democratic Party (PDP) was offering N2,000.
He stated that although he had no prior plans to vote this year, he returned to the area because of the candidate he supports.
Under Nigeria’s electoral laws, vote-buying is a criminal offence.
At the time of reporting, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had not issued an official statement regarding the allegation.
The development comes as chairmanship candidates across the six FCT area councils contest for office under various political parties, including the All Progressives Congress (APC), PDP and the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
