Alleged IREV Glitch Sparks Alert From Obidient Movement in FCT Elections

During the ongoing FCT Area Council elections, the Obidient Movement has highlighted a possible issue with the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Results Viewing Portal (IREV), claiming that certain polling unit results were missing from the system.

The elections are taking place across six area councils — Abuja Municipal Area Council, Bwari, Gwagwalada, Kuje, Abaji, and Kwali — as voters choose chairmen and councillors.

In a statement on Saturday, the movement’s National Coordinator, Yunusa Tanko, called on supporters and the public to stay alert and ensure results are properly verified.

“Reports indicate that results uploaded from certain polling units are not visible on the IREV server despite successful submission,” the statement noted.

Supporters were encouraged to peacefully visit the Area 10 INEC office or Karu to verify collation and confirm the accuracy of results from their polling units.

The portal, which is designed to allow Nigerians to track polling outcomes in real time, had not received any official response from INEC regarding the alleged malfunction as of the time of reporting.
