Leading telecommunications provider Airtel Nigeria has significantly expanded its customer service network with the launch of 350 premium retail shops across Nigeria, as part of a broader plan to establish 500 new customer touchpoints nationwide.
The newly unveiled shops, officially launched at City Mall, Onikan, Lagos, form part of Airtel’s strategy to bring faster, more convenient, and accessible services closer to millions of subscribers.
With the latest rollout, Airtel Nigeria now boasts an extensive retail network comprising over 9,000 exclusive shops spread across all local government areas, more than 350 premium experience centres, and over 73,000 retailers located in major towns and cities across the country.
The new retail outlets are designed as compact, high-efficiency service centres where customers can conveniently access a wide range of products and support services.
Subscribers can perform transactions such as:
Home Broadband, Fibre and Outdoor Unit subscriptions
Postpaid plan activation
Enterprise application enquiries and subscriptions
SIM registration and replacement
Airtime and data purchases
General customer support and account enquiries
Several of the new shops have already commenced operations in strategic locations including Lekki, Lagos Island, Magodo, Abeokuta, Benin City, Abakaliki, Kano, Abuja, and other major cities.
Speaking during the launch, Airtel Nigeria’s Director of Sales and Distribution, Joypratip Sengupta, said the expansion reflects the company’s commitment to delivering superior customer experience.
According to him, excellent service goes beyond technology and includes ensuring that customers can access support quickly and conveniently whenever needed.
He explained that the newly introduced express shops are designed to reduce congestion at larger experience centres while enabling customers to complete everyday transactions in a shorter time.
Sengupta added that Airtel remains focused on building Nigeria’s most accessible customer service network by expanding into more communities and bringing services closer to subscribers.
Also speaking at the event, Lynda Amechi, Head of Shops and Retail Postpaid Business, disclosed that the initiative was driven by customer feedback.
She noted that many customers had expressed concerns over waiting times at larger service centres, especially when seeking assistance for simple transactions.
According to her, Airtel responded by creating smaller, community-based outlets that would allow customers to access services more quickly and efficiently.
Integrating Digital and Physical Services
The retail expansion aligns with Airtel Nigeria’s broader customer experience strategy, which includes investments in digital self-service platforms, AI-powered customer support systems, customer engagement forums, and continued network expansion across the country.
Industry analysts believe the move will strengthen Airtel’s market presence and improve customer satisfaction by combining digital innovation with a robust physical retail network.
With 350 shops already operational and more planned, Airtel Nigeria is reinforcing its commitment to accessibility, speed, convenience, and customer-focused service delivery across the nation.
