Abia Security Agency Dismisses Officer Over Alleged Theft, Misconduct Excerpt:

The Abia State Homeland Security Agency has dismissed one of its personnel, Sunday Ndifreke Essien, Service No. 26/0472, over alleged theft and other misconduct.

The agency said Essien’s dismissal followed disciplinary proceedings conducted in line with its established code of conduct.

The dismissal was announced in a statement signed by the Commander General of the Abia State Homeland Security Agency, Nzenwa Stanley.

According to the statement, an investigation found the officer culpable of several serious breaches of the agency’s code of conduct.

“Following a thorough investigation, the officer was found culpable of serious breaches of the agency’s code of conduct, including theft, gross misconduct, insubordination, and a breach of public trust,” the statement said.

The dismissed officer was also directed to immediately surrender all agency property in his possession and complete the required clearance process.

The agency added that, where applicable, the matter would be referred to the appropriate law enforcement authorities for further investigation and prosecution in accordance with the law.

The security agency warned that it would not tolerate any conduct capable of undermining public trust, violating its code of conduct or bringing the agency into disrepute.
