The Abia State Government has dismissed as false a recruitment advertisement circulating on social media and claiming to have been issued by the Abia State Civil Service Commission.
In response to the misleading publication, the Abia State Civil Service Commission released an official disclaimer, describing the advert as fake and urging members of the public not to be deceived.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Chairman of the Commission, Pastor Eno Eze, said the Commission's attention had been drawn to the fraudulent advertisement, which falsely claimed that applications were being invited for several positions in the state civil service.
"The general public is hereby informed that this advertisement is false and should be disregarded in its entirety," the statement read.
Pastor Eze explained that the Commission is not conducting any general recruitment exercise at the moment. She clarified that the only active recruitment approved by the state government is for Medical Doctors and Hospital-Based Consultants.
"The only recruitment portal currently open is for the recruitment of Medical Doctors and Hospital-Based Consultants as officially approved by the Government. No applications are being received for any other cadre at this time," she stated.
She advised residents to rely solely on information released through the Commission's verified communication channels and official website for authentic recruitment updates.
The Commission also expressed regret over any confusion the fake advertisement may have caused and urged the public to disregard it completely.
It further appealed to anyone who has received the fake advert to stop sharing or circulating it.
